About Brian McCarty

Brian McCarty is a Memphis-born toy photographer and director/producer. Working with toys for over 15 years, Brian’s quirky photos and photo-illustrations have attracted a huge international following and found a home within the growing art-toy revolution.

After earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Parsons School of Design in New York City, Brian went on to become an integral member of creative teams that produced concepts and photographs that became icons and set the standard for their industry. His career history includes everyone from United Colors Benetton's creative research center Fabrica S.p.A. to Mattel Toys.

Since the 2003 launch of McCarty PhotoWorks in Los Angeles, he has made the studio a focal point of artistic and commercial collaboration. When he’s not producing projects for clients such as Rockstar Games and MTV, Brian regularly contributes select photos from personal series to international pop-culture/toy publications such as Hi Fructose (San Francisco), Playtimes (Singapore), and Clutter (UK).

Although spare time can sometimes be hard to find, when Brian has a moment he likes to cruise around L.A. on a restored ’63 Lambretta scooter while searching for the ultimate french-fry.
