God of Animation

Next month, the PLATFORM Animation Festival debuts in Portland, Oregon. As the only major animation event in the United States, its mission is to give artists from around the world a non-commercial forum to inspire and grow animated and traditional mediums. Besides being an international animation competition, PLATFORM is breaking the boundaries into other art forms: comic book art, illustration, character design, toy design, motion graphics, fine-art installation, and live-action cinema will all have a place at the festival.

I'm extremely honored to be a juror for PLATFORM. Those competing will have a chance at one of the coolest awards ever made. Seen above is the God of Animation designed for the festival by artist/illustrator James Jarvis. This shoot was a total blast. I have to give huge thanks to everyone that gave up a Sunday to come out and play. The posters are starting to pop up everywhere, so keep your eye out for them.

While on the topic of animation, I have some extremely exciting news that has been hard to keep under wraps for the last several months. I have been working with an amazing team to co-create a kids' television show based on my photography. Thanks to Peter Gal, Aaron Berger, Ciro Nieli, Carina Schulze, and Bradley Zweig, "Plastic Fantastic" is now officially in development at Nickelodeon!

I look forward to the coming year and collaborating with so many talented people to bring the show to life.
